तमन्ना है हर इन्सान की, मैं हमेशा सुखी और आनन्द में रहूं। It is the wish of every human being, May I always be happy and in joy.

तमन्ना है हर इन्सान की,
मैं हमेशा सुखी और आनन्द में रहूं।
कभी भी दुख मुझको न सताये,
सदा खुशियों से भरपूर रहूं।।

भुला कर प्रभु के नाम को,

यह सुख चैन कैसे पायेगा।

सुख की इच्छा तभी होगी पूरी,

जब मालिक का नाम दिल में बसायेगा।।

अर्थ :- सन्त वचन कर रहे हैं कि ऐ जीव! प्रत्येक मनुष्य की आत्मिक इच्छा होती है कि में सदैव सुखी रहूं, आनन्द में रहूं। दुख मुझे कभी न आये। हमेशा मेरा दिल सच्ची खुशियों से भरा रहे।

परन्तु ऐ इन्सान! तू बहुत बडी भूल कर रहा है कि प्रभू के नाम को भूला बैठा है। भजन-सुमिरन को छोडकर यह सुख प्राप्त करने की जो तेरी इच्छा है वह कभी पूरी नहीं हो सकती क्योंकि प्रभू नाम सुमिरन के अतिरिक्त सच्चा सुख संसार की किसी भी वस्तु में नहीं है। 

तू सांसारिक सामानों को पाने के लिये रात-दिन उनके पीछे पडकर अपना अमूल्य समय जो मनुष्य तन के रूप में तुझे मिला हुआ है उसे व्यर्थ नष्ट कर रहा है।

सन्तों की वाणी को गंभीरता पूर्वक विचार कर और जो तेरा इस संसार में आने का असली उद्देश्य है उसको पहचान और अपनी आत्मा के कल्याण के निमित्त कार्य कर अर्थात् मालिक के नाम को दिल में बसा और सच्चे सुख को प्राप्त कर ले जिससे तेरी आत्मा का कल्याण हो जायेगा। और तेरा संसार में आने का मकसद पूरा हो जायेगा।

It is the wish of every human being,

never hurt me,

May I always be full of happiness.

Forgetting the name of the Lord,

How will you find this happiness and peace?

Only then will the desire for happiness be fulfilled,

When the name of the owner will be in the heart.

Meaning:- The saints are saying that O soul! It is the spiritual desire of every human being that I should always be happy, live in joy. Never hurt me. May my heart always be filled with true happiness.

But oh man! You are making a big mistake that you have forgotten the name of the Lord. Your desire to get this happiness except hymn-sumiran can never be fulfilled because there is no real happiness in anything in the world except the name of the Lord.

You are wasting your precious time which you have got in the form of human body by following them day and night to get worldly goods.

Considering the words of the saints seriously and recognize that which is your real purpose of coming into this world and work for the welfare of your soul, that is, keep the name of the Master in your heart and attain true happiness, which will benefit your soul. Will be done. And your purpose of coming into the world will be fulfilled.
